Race report for Round 7 of AFM 2013

This year has been a huge learning year and kind of a come back year for me in some ways. I started off the year struggling and trying to find my rhythm again after having a tough 2012 season. It took me a few rounds to get this rhythm back but after I finally did things started to click for me. In the end I was able to rebound from a tough 2012 season and end 2013 faster, stronger and more mature then ever before.

This past weekend’s final AFM round at Thunderhill was yet another good learning weekend for me. I was able to leave the weekend with three wins and a second place but more importantly I learned a ton and will be able to take what I learned and get better for next season. All of the races were close, so they were fun and entertaining for both me and everyone who was watching. It was a great way to end the season for everyone involved, its always nice to end the year with a close battle because it gives you something to look forward to continuing for the next season. I am so grateful to walk away from this season healthy and with three championships. What makes it even better is that I get to bring those three championships home for all the people who helped and supported me this year and in years past. I have a great group of people behind me who stayed behind me and supported me even when I was struggling earlier on. This group of people have been there for me no matter what and I couldn’t ask for a better group of people to work with or to share my time with this season. This includes Skyler Vickroy, Kyle Schirrmacher, Sam and Josie, Danny, David and Shawn at Z2 Racing and Z2 Track Days, Chris and Corey at Pirelli and CT Racing, Jesse Koeler at BBJK, Mike Canfield at MC Tech, Dr. David Benkle, Nick Kister at Moto Wheels, Chris Van Andel at Motion Pro, Tim, Manny, and Dave at Leo Vince, Arai, Cortech, Corse Dynamics, NK Components, Yamalube, GPR, GYTR, Tech Spec and Optimal Bodywork

I learned so much throughout the course of the season which, just like any season, had its ups and downs. I both struggled and succeeded at times but in the end I have no regrets and I was able to leave it all out there on the track this past weekend. I feel good about that and proud of what I was able to accomplish while facing these challenges.
